Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Linux

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Linux provides corporate networks running Unix-based operating systems on their endpoint machines with centralized protection from all types of malware and potentially dangerous programs. Coming from a product family based on a uniform set of world-class anti-malware and other core technologies, Kaspersky Lab’s innovative new antivirus engine uses cutting-edge component architecture to increase performance and stability, providing reliable protection that’s easy to control and manage.

Highlights

  • New antivirus engine
The application is based on a completely new antivirus engine that dramatically increases system scanning speed, optimizes the use of system resources and has minimal impact on other programs.
  • Improved centralized administration
A range of improvements has brought the application’s manageability to a new level. In addition, the new version of Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Linux is fully supported by Kaspersky Administration Kit, a centralized management tool that makes it easy to complete a variety of IT security management tasks, starting from remote deployment of the endpoint security applications through to generation of system event reports.
  • Enhanced heuristic analyzer
Traditional signature scanning is supplemented with the improved heuristic analyzer. This helps to detect currently unknown threats which are similar to those that have already been detected, and significantly strengthens the overall protection level.

Effective Protection against Malware

  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus Engine 8.0
The new antivirus engine provides effective anti-malware protection methods against computer threats. It prevents computer virus epidemics and keeps information secure and fully accessible.
  • On-access scan
Files are scanned in real time as they are opened, copied, run and saved. IT security threats are detected and neutralized whenever the file system is accessed.
  • On-demand scan
Using the improved heuristic analyzer’s pro-active engine to increase malware detection rates, Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Linux can perform on-demand antivirus scanning of specified system areas - as and when requested or according to a schedule.
  • Frequent database updates
Database updates are performed automatically on both a regular and an emergency basis to provide high malware detection rates and increased protection levels for corporate infrastructures.

Optimized Performance

  • High performance, low impact
In addition to achieving higher detection rates, the new antivirus engine dramatically increases system scanning speeds to optimize resource consumption. As a result, the application has minimal impact on other programs and overall system performance.
  • New application architecture
Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Linux has a completely new component architecture which adds to the application’s stability and enables ultimate performance.
  • Optimized CPU usage
The latest version of the application significantly lowers system resource usage (?PU, Disk usage, Disk I/O).

Centralized Administration

  • Remote deployment
You can use Kaspersky Administration Kit – a centralized administration tool – to install and deploy the endpoint security applications and manage them after installation both locally and remotely.
  • Endpoint security management
Various policies and tasks can be applied to any group of workstations to provide system administrators with flexible ways to configure Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Linux on a group or an individual level.
  • Automatic updates
Updates to antivirus databases and application modules are available on demand or automatically according to a schedule. A new application feature is the facility to use the Kaspersky Administration Server as an update source while using Network Agent as a transport method.
  • Support for centralized quarantine and backup storages
Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Linux not only places infected and suspicious files into the quarantine and backup storage areas but also provides the appropriate information to the corresponding centralized administration server storages. This allows the security administrator to manage incidents from the Kaspersky Administration Kit and perform the required actions.
